Privacy Policy

The short version

• We keep your sign-in details and whatever you add to your collection.
• We don't sell any of it, and we don't run ads.
• Card prices and set data come from outside services. We hand them card numbers, never your name.
• Your collection stays private unless you switch on a public page or share a binder link. Those are the only things other people can see.

Your account

When you sign up we hold onto three things: a username, an email address, and the display name you pick. Signing in runs through our authentication system, which drops a session cookie in your browser so you don't have to log in on every page.

The email is there so we can reach you about your own account if we ever need to. We don't add it to a marketing list, and we don't pass it to anyone else.

What you put in

The collection is yours: cards, sealed boxes, graded slabs, pack openings, binders, the prices and notes you record, and any photos or links you attach. All of it sits in our database, tied to your account.

We don't go reading through individual collections. The exceptions are the ordinary ones — chasing down a bug, or looking into something you've asked us to fix.

What you choose to share

Public collection pages and shared binders do exactly what the name says. Anyone who has the link can see whatever you've put on them. Nothing goes public on its own — you turn sharing on, and you can turn it back off whenever you want.

The plain advice: don't put anything on a public page that you wouldn't be happy for a stranger to find.

Cookies and what your browser keeps

A session cookie keeps you signed in. Beyond that, the site saves a couple of small preferences in your browser — things like whether you're on light or dark mode. There are no advertising cookies and nothing that follows you around other sites.

The outside services we lean on

To do its job, TCGshare passes a few things to other companies. Here's the full list and what each one gets:

• Card pricing and set data. We pull values and catalog details from card-pricing providers. What goes out is a card or set identifier — nothing about you.
• Barcode lookups. Scan a sealed product and the barcode goes to a product-lookup service. If that isn't enough to name the set, the messy product title is sent to an AI text service that cleans it up into a proper set name. That's the barcode and the title, and that's all.
• Crash reporting. When something breaks, an error-reporting service records the technical wreckage — what failed, which browser, which page — so we can find it and fix it. It isn't there to build a profile of you.

None of these services get a copy of your collection to keep or to sell.

How long we hold things

Your data stays for as long as your account is around. Ask us to close your account and we'll delete the account record and the collection attached to it. A copy may linger in routine backups for a short while afterward before those roll over and it's gone for good.

Keeping it safe

Traffic to the site runs over an encrypted connection, sign-in sits behind our auth system, and the database isn't exposed to the open internet. No setup is bulletproof, and we're not going to pretend otherwise — but the best protection is that we don't gather more than the app actually needs.

Children

TCGshare isn't built for children under 13, and we don't knowingly set up accounts for them. If you believe a child has created one, let us know and we'll take it down.

Changes to this page

If the way any of this works changes, we'll update the page and move the date at the top. When a change is a big one, we'll point it out rather than expect you to spot it.
